Experience
-
Provided legal support to Telcom South Africa in post bid negotiations for the acquisition of controlling interests in the privatized Uganda Telecommunications Ltd., instructed by UK Solicitors, Frere, Bromley and Bischoff. [1998].
- Provided legal advisory services to the Government of Uganda, as local transaction lawyers in the privatization of the Uganda Commercial Bank, which was a public enterprise wholly owned by the State [1997/1998]. The divestiture was structured by Deutch Morgan Grenfell, the Financial Advisors together with both a foreign and local legal consultant, the latter being our firm.
- Provided Legal Advisory services to Standard Chartered Merchant Bank of South Africa the appointed merchant bank to advise the Government of Uganda on the privatization of National Insurance Corporation, a wholly state owned enterprise. The entire legal aspects of this divestiture up to the setting up successor companies were included in our brief. [1998-1999].
- Provided legal support to the Standard Chartered Merchant Bank, South Africa appointed financial advisors in the Divestiture of Kinyara Sugar Works a State Owned Agricultural Enterprises. [1998-1999].
- Provided professional support to the Privatization and Divestiture Implementation Unit on aspects London involved the sale and acquisition of the companies assets in Africa including Gailey and Roberts Uganda Ltd., a corporate component of Unatrac Export Business of Leverton Export Ltd. [1997].
- Provided professional/legal advisory services to the RAI Group in a bid to acquire Kinyara Works Ltd in the privatization process (2005/2006)
